The name and logo for the Seattle franchise was officially unveiled yesterday, and, by popular demand, Seattle Sounders FC was the winner. After being asked to vote on names such as Seattle Alliance or Seattle Republic, a tremendous write in campaign (over 50% of the voters) influenced the ownership group and MLS to go with the name that has been associated with Seattle soccer for years, Sounders. The team will sport colors that are reminiscent of the northwest, and the team will begin play in 2009 (with or without Henry, depending on the rumors you hear).
What do you think of the team name? What about the shield and color scheme? Where do you think MLS should expand next (if you think it should at all)?

Good work with the name, but that shield is horrible.
That is the ugliest damn shield I've ever seen. Looks like a Star Trek badge.
Reminiscent of the early Nike days of MLS. That is one ugly crest man.
I like the shield.
At least they got the name right. It's easier to change the shield than the name.
Love the democratic way they went about doing the right thing with the name. Thirteen years ago, we should have been named the Cosmos (though it would be a mistake to go back and rebrand now).
I like the Sounders badge but don't care for the pea-green. No matter, I'll just boo them anyway!
with Philly already taking the 16th spot I would say
17. St. Louis
18. New York 2
19. Montreal
20. Miami
21. Vancouver
22. Las Vegas
23. Portland
24. Phoenix
