US DRAW ANNOUNCED FOR OLYMPIC GAMES

The groups for the Olympic soccer tournament were announced yesterday, and the US drew Japan, the Netherlands, and Nigeria in Group B. This is a difficult draw for the US, as Group B looks to be the most challenging of all four groups. Two Red Bulls are in contention for selection to the team, as both Jozy Altidore and Hunter Freeman participated in the qualifying rounds.

The US will open the tournament with Japan on August 7, before taking on the Netherlands on August 10. Both games will be played in Tianjin before the US rounds out group play in the host city of Beijing on August 10, playing Nigeria.

What are your thoughts on the US draw? What are there chances to advance past the group stage? Do you think Jozy and/or Hunter will gain selection to the team?
