Both Jozy and Hunter featured in the US U23s Olympic Qualifying opener last night against Cuba in Tampa, FL. Hunter played all 90 minutes, while Jozy worked hard during his 45 minutes of action. With two more matches left in the group stage, the US still has time to secure a spot in the semifinals, but the team didn't do itself any favors by earning just the single point. (SIDE BAR: 5 players on the Cuban team are missing and are assumed to be defecting.)
Here is a recap from MLSNET.COM.
Red Bulls Reader caught up with assistant coach Richie Williams at today's training session to get his impressions on the match.
Williams on how Cuba approached the second half.
Williams assesses the game and looks ahead.
Hunter, Jozy, and the rest of the team returns to action on Thursday, March 13, taking on Panama at 8 PM, again at Raymond James Stadium. Tune in to Fox Soccer Channel to cheer on the US and their Red Bull representatives.
