The stars were out for the Showdown in Chinatown yesterday, but for RBR and the rest of the Red Bulls front office, we wanted to check out the exploits of one of our own, Senior Account Executive Mike Quarino, who played keeper for the Blue Team.
The very beginning of this video shows Q coming off his line to make a great save:
He might not be as proud of this moment, as Henry nearly takes his head off on a PK:
Former Red Bull Ronald Wattereus was supposed to play for the Blue Team, but he was unable to attend, thrusting Mike into a starting role. He told RBR that he has played in some pickup games with Nash in the past, as the two met when Nash trained with the Red Bulls prior to New York's friendly with Barcelona in August of 2006.
According to Q, he was most impressed with the play of Robbie Fowler and Henry, he thought Jason Kidd was better than he thought in terms of his soccer skills, and Baron Davis was by far the most entertaining.
Q also thought that the crowd was awesome, with people climbing on fences, vans, trees, and streetlights to get a view of the pitch, creating an amazing atmosphere.

I wonder how much Claudio makes per minute actually spent on the field during competitive matches. I bet it's some kind of MLS record.
How is it that Claudio can play in a pick-up game in the park, but can't suit up for Red Bull?

Look this was for charity, I don't have a proble with the charity.
But Claudio really has not earn his DP money. Hopefully he can turn it around these next few months and give the Red Bulls a much needed championship. I don't see anyone signing him beyond his time in NY Red Bulls. Would be nice to see Henry with the Red Bulls. Henry would bring a lot of energy and fans to the stadium.
BTW...any status on the stadium? build it already!
