Unlimited subs tonight so it looks like everyone will be able to see some sort of action. Kevin Goldthwaite was not included in the squad tonight as he still has tight hamstrings. With Goldthwaite out, rookie John Gilkerson slips into the starting lineup for his first start.

87': Nava puts a low left-footed shot on net but Thornton is there to knock it away. Schramm on for Gilkerson, who looks like he picked up a knock.

81': Sassano was through on goal off a Wolyniec pass but good play by Esparza to deflect his shot. Wolyniec off for Megaloudis.

67': Roth in for Borman... moments earlier, Morales hit a free kick into the arms of Thornton.

63': Esparza is free on the right side of the penalty box after a good through ball but he pulls his shot wide left.

57': Nothing much happening as both teams trying to keep possession until a minute later, the Chivas right winger breaks through on the right side of the box, but Parke is there to slide it away.

46': Second half kicks off and Red Bulls make five subs: Sassano for van den Bergh, Kljestan for Mendes, Wolyniec for Echeverry, Leitch for Freeman, Magee for Ubiparipovic

HALFTIME: Red Bulls kept possession in this tempestuous affair and deserved to go in front. Chivas with a couple of chances but nothing to really trouble Zach Thornton.

43': Red Cads issued to Solis and Stammler. It seems that after a Red Bulls foul, there was a scuffle and both players were kicked out. A minute later, Gilkerson and Hernandez went for the ball and hit each others' heads.

38': Chivas hasn't been able to do much this game. Another Chivas corner cleared away by the Red Bulls.

35: Borman for Richards. First sub of the game.

22: Red Bulls goal!!!!!! Sinisa made himself free on the right wing before running to the touchline and slotting the ball back to a wide-open Echeverry, who put it in. 1-0 Red Bulls.

22: Yellow card issued to a Chivas player.

18: Echeverry again gets free, ths time on the right side of the box and he puts the ball over the bar.

4: Echeverry gets released on the left side of the penalty box and pokes a shot that goes through the legs of the 'keeper but is cleared off the line by Antonio de los Santos.
