US OPEN CUP OPPONENT SET


The Red Bulls enter the US Open Cup in the third round, and their opponent was determined last night. By virtue of their penalty kick win over the Harrisburg City Islanders, Crystal Palace Baltimore will host New York on Tuesday, July 1 for a spot in the quarterfinals.

Crystal Palace's 3-1 PK shootout win came after the two sides played to a 2-2 score though extra time.

Harrisburg goalkeeper Danny Cepero, on loan from the Red Bulls, missed the match due to a quadriceps injury.

The matchup with Crystal Palace will take place at UMBC Stadium, and is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m. Baltimore, a USL-2 side, is currently in third place in the USL-2 table, with a 6-3-1 (19 points) record. CPB advanced to the second round with a 2-1 road win over the LA Legends, a PDL side.
