Red Bull New York announced today that Erik Stover has been promoted to the role of Managing Director of Red Bull New York effective immediately. Stover replaces Marc de Grandpre, who resigned on April 9, 2008.
Stover joined Red Bull New York on March 1, 2008, as Vice President, Operations and General Manager of Red Bull Park. Previously, Stover served as the General Manager of Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego since 2005. Prior to his tenure at Qualcomm Stadium, Stover spent nine years with the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority where he served in a number of positions rising to the position of Assistant Vice President of Stadium Operations of Giants Stadium. Stover’s background includes facility and event management for both sports and entertainment properties. In addition, he had been involved in facility construction and renovation projects at both Qualcomm Stadium and Giants Stadium. He is a graduate of Penn State University.
Stover will oversee all of the business and commercial aspects of the team. In addition, Head Coach Juan Carlos Osorio and Sporting Director Jeff Agoos will report to Stover.

So the men running the soccer aspect of our...er... soccer team will be reporting to a guy with no experience running/playing/being a fan of soccer.

Yeah, pretty much. Another quality hire to RBNY. This move makes ZERO sense ... typical. Erik Stover, where does this equate to a positive hire. oh boy, he can plan how to put a brick or a steel pipe in a stadium.... red bull just screwed themselves more.. quality job .... he will continue to take this team down the drain. jump ship baby, jump far

WTF Red Bull? I'm a DIE HARD Metro fan, and all Red Bull are doing is pushing me farther and farther away.....not to another MLS club, but to my fav. Euro team, Juve.....its just so hard to care about an organization that is so incompetant.
