RED BULLS FALL TO DYNAMO, 1-0

A much better effort against Houston tonight, but alas, a Brian Ching goal separated the two sides. Head coach Juan Carlos Osorio thought that the team did well in the first half but did not keep possession well enough in the second and a set piece play left the Red Bulls going home with no points.

Reaction from Osorio:

Dane Richards:

Jozy Altidore:

There's a quick turnaround as the Red Bulls return home Thursday to face Chivas USA at 7:30 PM.

What are your thoughts on the match? Who were some of the standout performers? Were you impressed by the effort? Where does the team need to improve on its next game?

*Sigh* Here we go again. The transfer window cannot come quick enough we need quite a few guys especially in the defense.

Karbaz... I don't think defenders are the issue, though Boyens & Leitch should be in the PDL.

Red Bulls need some creative players in the middle of the park. Last night's team was 6 defenders on the field, with Jozy & Woly (who put in a hell of an effort) stranded because our attack was limited to the outside, which was quickly neutralized.

Stammler, who is a very good player & Sassano who needs a couple of growing seasons, are not creative players. They are destroyers, and only one of them should be on the field in a 4-4-2, complimented by a creative attacking midfielder.

And I don't mean Reyna.

Where's the creativity? Osorio, Agoos: where's our TRUE play-maker? It's an essential part of a great, or at this point passable, team! Where's our Blanco?

Watching the Red Bulls last night was a personal battle of attrition. Worse than a USL game.

Defense is a fine strategy, but it is just one component of soccer. You're neglecting the "Beautiful Game" part.

It's been obvious since the Mertostars days that are defense was never top notch compared to other teams. The play making will come when our midfielders don't need to worry about helping our defense. All it takes is one senior defender who can lead the back and that's the problem we have no leaders back there, although Reyna is clearly not at the top of his game he is still considered a leader in the mid and JPA in the front but no one in the back. Although it would be nice to add more to our middle but it's our back that has failed us not our mid, our mid played great last season but who let us down time and time again? Our defense.

I didn't see the game last night so IDk how well our awful our team played, If in your eyes our mid was the problem in the last game then I fear we are in more trouble than I thought.

I am so sick of this....they suck plai and simple....we can't sign draft choices; trade away all stars; and have needs all over the field.....where is our designated senior allocation - Reyna (joke) - a million dollars wasted.....the franchise is the biggest joke on the planet....no improvement ever just changes....we started the season with worse than a PDL or ISL team....whatever....
