The MLS All-Star First XI was announced today. No Red Bulls were named among the First XI, though there is always the possibility that a player will be added as the 18-man roster is completed.
Here are the all-star selections:
2008 MLS All-Star First XI
Goalkeeper: Matt Reis (New England Revolution)
Defenders: Jimmy Conrad (Kansas City Wizards), Frankie Hejduk (Columbus Crew), Michael Parkhurst (New England Revolution)
Midfielders: David Beckham (Los Angeles Galaxy), Cuauhtemoc Blanco (Chicago Fire), Shalrie Joseph (New England Revolution), Sacha Kljestan (Chivas USA), Robbie Rogers (Columbus Crew)
Forwards: Kenny Cooper (FC Dallas), Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy)
What are your thoughts on the picks? Who is the most glaring omission? Do you think any Red Bulls are deserving of selection? Who will win the match vs. the Hammers? Share your thoughts in the comments section.

I think this is a pretty good lineup, especially because it doesn't include Danny Dichio. I think Stammler deserves a spot. I'd like to see Angel play just because when he's healthy he is arguably the most deadly goalscorer the MLS team has. Having said that his time missed due to injury probably means he shouldn't be on the team.
I think at this point Stammler is our best hope, something tells me neither Richards nor VDB will make it even though they're both playing really well.
VDB deserves it the most but I would like to see 0 Red Bulls playing in the all star game. To me having 0 of our players would send a message to each of them, that being that they haven't played like all stars. Seth would be a good pick but the only one who deserves it is VDB.
