Red Bull New York today unveiled their preseason schedule for 2008, with trips planned to Los Angeles, Salzburg, and Charleston. The plans look similar to last season, with the big change being swapping the trip to Florida with a trip to Salzburg.
After players report to the New York/New Jersey area on Jan. 26, the Red Bulls will fly to Los Angeles on Feb. 2, where they will train and play a set of scrimmages at The Home Depot Center facility in Carson, CA until Feb. 18. After returning to the New York/New Jersey area, the Red Bulls will travel to Salzburg, Austria - the headquarters of Red Bull GmbH - on Feb. 25. New York will practice at the facilities of its sister club, Red Bull Salzburg, while also competing in matches there before returning to the United States on March 7.
In their final preseason tour, the Red Bulls will compete in the Carolina Challenge Cup, set to take place at Blackbaud Stadium in Daniel Island, SC, from March 15-22. The Red Bulls will arrive in Charleston, SC, on March 14 and will face the Charleston Battery on March 15, Toronto FC on March 19 and MLS' newest team, the San Jose Earthquakes on March 22 in the round-robin tournament.
